David Grottschreiber

He was born 1982 in Hamburg (Germany) and startet playing the trombone at age 11. Studied Jazz Trombone in Hamburg, Rotterdam and Lucerne and Composition in Lucerne. He has been a Member of the Youth Jazz Orchestras of Niedersachen and Hamburg and of the National Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Peter Herbolzheimer. He has been studying Trombone with Joe Gallardo, Bart van Lier, Nils Wogram and Composition with Ed Neumeister, David Angel, Rainer Tempel, John Hollenbeck und Dieter Ammann.

2008 2nd price at JAZZVERK International Composition Competition for Bigband in Sweden

2010 1st price at the Composition Contest of the BuJazzO in Germany
